YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION

Each concert season, the Northeast Orchestra is pleased to sponsor a Young Artist Competition for the purpose of fostering musical talent among Tarrant County youth, and to award a cash scholarship and present the winner in a performance with the orchestra. The 2017 Young Artist will be featured in the Northeast Orchestra’s April 21, 2017 concert.

Students in grades 9–12 who are residents of Tarrant County, Texas, and who perform on string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument or with voice, are eligible to apply to audition. Repertoire considered for performance with the orchestra may be one or more movements of any standard concerto, a single-movement work, or multiple movements of a suite. Vocalists may choose one or two selections of contrasting style. Total performance time may not exceed 15 minutes.

The 2017 Young Artist Competition auditions will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas.
